At AHead, we develop and distribute CARL - the number one way to simulate a hearing loss patient for use in training, research, and product demonstrations. By using a manikin-based patient-simulator, clinicians are better prepared to deliver patients with the highest standard of care while prescribing their hearing aids. In a training scenario, novice clinicians can practice on CARL before their clinical placements, with research showing students who practiced with CARL performed better in clinical scenarios than those who did not. In research settings, CARL simulates participants and represents an average patient for patient-studies and product development. Finally, in a clinical scenario, CARL allows for the demonstration of the hearing aid selection and fitting process on a manikin before performing on the patient themselves and will allow for comparing the results of different brands of hearing aids.
