I am responsible for providing internal project-level and strategic advice on ornithological issues for offshore wind projects under development by Ocean Winds. Externally, I work closely with consultants and stakeholders to ensure that the assessment work supporting our projects meets the specifications required for EIA and HRA. Given the current (potential) high level of consent risk of seabirds to offshore wind projects, I am particularly interested in work which provides evidence to inform current data gaps in assessment work, and in derogation.

ABOUT ROBERT IREDALE
I am an experienced ecological consultant specialising in ornithology. My project experience includes large-scale developments in a diverse range of sectors: offshore and onshore renewable energy, major highway infrastructure and regional scale waste water developments, in addition to projects such as small-scale energy generation and holiday parks.I possess extensive knowledge and experience in data collection, management and reporting of survey programmes, which includes terrestrial surveys, boat-based and aerial bird and marine mammal surveys. I have led and contributed to the delivery of ornithology and ecology Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessments, as well as a variety of technical reports. I have also supported clients in preparation for and during Public Inquiries. I therefore possess a thorough knowledge of the consent process, the legislation that underpins it, and its application.
