ABOUT ROBERT INTVELD

EAP CIR Multi-Systemic Resiliency Approach Live Trainings and On Demand announced! Register now! EAP CIR MSRA There are many components of traditional crisis intervention that are universal in their application. Each response organization - Red Cross, ICISF, NOVA, FEMA, etc, modify these principles based on their unique mission. In EAP, our needs are also unique and the expectations are high for successful outcomes. We must attend to multiple stakeholders, navigate a dual-client environment, and incorporate various workplace cultures. It is not just about mitigating stress responses, but understanding how resilience is achieved and fostered within the accessible systems. How to complement and position organizational leadership to maximize resilience. How to effectively use EAP workflows, and integrate network affiliates to achieve a coordinated response. We cannot expect to learn this from other models. Their mission is not ours. As EAP and mental health access evolve post pandemic, so too does CIR. While the impact from exposure to a critical incident might be the same, the landscape around us is changing. Workplace culture now more than ever influences resilience. Virtual processes are acceptable means and sometimes the only means for employee interaction. Integrating onsite presence with virtual tools can be helpful if delivered with competence. One should not go onsite in a response capacity if they are not fully equipped to adjust to worksite conditions. Sometimes on the the fly. You cannot force another system into the only system you now how to operate and expect a positive outcome. It is up to you to be flexible. Get trained.
