About Robert Hinton

Shortly after graduation at Appalachian State University, I moved to Raleigh, NC to pursue my professional career.I began my professional career at TrueGreen Lawncare where I accepted a position of Outside Sales. There, I was able to come out of my comfort zone and learn a great deal about personal interaction while also increasing my communication skills. I consistently exceeded my sales goals as well as made great friends in that position.Although I enjoyed my time as an Outside Sales Representative, I eventually accepted a position as Inventory Administrator at East Coast Metal Distributors. Logistics and inventory management is a true passion of mine so I have really enjoyed my time working in the supply chain. In this position, I managed an abundance of vendor accounts and also devised plans to promote supply chain efficiency. I was able to construct complex reports to help demonstrate visually what we could do to improve the bottom line as it pertained to the supply chain. My biggest accomplishment has been coming up with a freight report that has helped decrease our freight expenses by from 2013 to 2014.Currently, my role is Product Information Manager at East Coast Metal Distributors. I accepted this position in October 2014. Although my role has changed, I still work in some ways to make our supply chain more efficient by continuing to report on many different aspects.In the role as Product Information Manager, I was able to aid in the successful launch of our new E-Commerce Website. I was able to take initiative in helping develop the websites design as well as add the the majority of the website\'s content. I currently am managing the product information for our largest vendor account as well as many other vendors in the industry. I help in the acquisition of new product lines as well as new item addition of current product lines.Aside from my career, I enjoy being outdoors! I love to hike, fish, bike, and stay active playing sports.
