Global Technology - Vice President - Materials and Process Engineering
Jan 1990 — Present
Lead an incredibly talented materials and process engineering team consisting of 10 Materials and Process Engineers w/a 12 month CO-OP student. In the summer we add two M&P interns which enriches their STEM, M&P knowledge and technical writing skills. Our team utilized in house full lab capabilities with FE-SEM/EDS/EBSD/FTIR, Ion Milling, Instrument Charpy V-Notch Impact Testing, 2 MTS Load Frames - Video Extensometer, metallography lab, rapid prototyping capabilities, OES, automated knoop and vicker microhardness testing. Our lab is A2LA accredited to the latest update of ISO17025 in ASTM E18 Rockwell Testing, ASTM E10 Brinell Testing, ASTM B117 Salt Spray Operation, GMW14872 Cyclic Corrosion Testing, ASTM E384 Microindentation Hardness Testing and ASTM E8 Tension Testing of Metallic Materials, and automated machining centers to enable the production of industry standard test samples for mechanical testing. We hold a ISO 17025 A2LA accreditation for corrosion testing, hardness, and tensile testing of materials. Each year we work to add to our accreditation and have started to perform outside services. The majority of our functionality is as a matrix support group to the corporation. We support our four main business units, Defense, Fire and Emergency, Aerial Work Platforms, and Commercial concrete and refuse delivery vehicles. These units are supported through failure analysis, materials evaluation/characterization, authoring M&P specifications, M&P selection for designers, PPAP analysis, and interface with the customer and our suppliers on a routine basis to delight the customer. The marketing of these outside services is a corporate initiative, with website development and tradeshow attendance in the near future.
