Robert Hanson is a seasoned business leader known for building, transforming, and scaling consumer businesses. His track record of success as a CEO and large P&L leader extends across global strategy, operations, financial planning, and execution, and M&A.Prior to his current role, Hanson served as Constellation Brands\'(CBI) Wine and Spirits Global Portfolio President (after a successful six-year term as Independent Director), contributing to CBI\'s market capitalization growth by $28 billion. He oversaw all aspects of the $2B business and drove the transformation of the business into the largest global Premium & Luxury Still Wine portfolio with a high-growth Craft Spirits business. Previously, Hanson was Chairman and CEO of L Catterton-backed John Hardy, the sustainable luxury jewelry brand, where he led the firm to revenue growth of 28%, helped to recapitalize the company during COVID-19 and advises on preparations for a successful exit. Before joining John Hardy, Hanson was CEO at publicly listed American Eagle Outfitters, where he led the transformation from a $3B mono-brand, mono-channel company into a global, dual-brand, multi-channel, technology-enabled & agile competitor.Earlier, Hanson had a distinguished 23-year career at Levi Strauss & Co. Hanson’s early stage career included advertising and management consulting. Hanson has served as an Independent Director and Chair/Member of the Audit, HR, and Governance Committees at Constellation Brands, Canopy Growth Corporation, John Hardy, and Urban Outfitters. He has served on five non-profit boards with a focus on youth development, social justice, HIV/AIDS education & prevention, and the arts. He is also a recognized leader in ESG, has been honored as an Out 100 LGBTQ+ Global Executive, has written for Time, and has provided keynotes at several public and private events.
