About Robert Hannigan
I am an accomplished hospitality leader with more than 25 years of experience guiding luxury and boutique hotels to exceptional performance. My expertise spans new hotel openings, revenue optimization, market share growth, operational excellence, and cultivating environments where both guests and team members thrive. In addition, I\'ve continued to develop my professional education earning industry credentials as a Certified Hotel Administrator, Certified Hospitality Revenue Manager, Certification in Hotel Real Estate Investment and Asset Management, as well as Six Sigma. This fall, I will lead the opening of The Beckworth, a Curio Collection by Hilton property operated by Concord Hospitality in Charlotte. Previously, I have successfully opened and managed several acclaimed four‑star boutique hotels, including the Monaco Alexandria (2007), The Goodland (2015), Tryon Park (2017), The Sylvan Hotel (2021), the InterContinental Indianapolis (2025), The Shane Hotel—recognized as USA Today’s Best New Hotel in 2022—and The Kimpton Forum (2023) on the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business campus.My teams and I have been honored with numerous awards for service and operational excellence, including the J.D. Power Award for Highest in Guest Satisfaction (2018), Fortune’s 100 Best Places to Work (2012–2025), and the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index (2005–2025). I have also been personally recognized with the Kimpton Hotels Bill Kimpton Award (General Manager of the Year, 2017) and the Charlotte Regional Visitor Authority Tourism Ambassador of the Year (2021).Most of all, I am driven by a passion for creating memorable, distinctive guest experiences and for mentoring the next generation of hospitality professionals who will shape the future of our industry.
