I have a Geology and Legal education. I practiced as an M&A and technology lawyer for 13 years in private practice and in house with BJ Services in Houston and Calgary, and as General Counsel of TransAlta Corp, a large Canadian public utility. I was then a Managing Director of an Investment Bank as an originator and M&A specialist for 11 years mostly with RBC Capital markets (9 years) in Calgary and Houston. I ran the Houston office and E&P group for FBR before joining Eagle Rock Energy Partners where I served as their SVP of Business Development for 4 years, cumulating in the sale of the Partnership. I have also worked at LS Power as a Managing Director and Head of Midstream to help them acquire and build a midstream platform, Grenadier Energy Partners II, LLC as their Vice President-Business Development & Engineering and Five Point Energy (a financial sponsor) to help originate midstream opportunities as a Senior Vice President. In January of 2021 I joined Crestwood Midstream Partners in Houston, TX as a Vice President of Strategy and Business Development and became a Senior Vice President of Business Development as of January 1, 2022. Crestwood merged with Energy Transfer in Nov of 2023. In January of 2024 I left Energy Transfer to become the General Manager of Carbon TerraVault Joint Venture based in Long Beach, CA. I now lead the JV effort to sequester and store C02 in California Resources Corporation\'s old oil & gas reservoirs at their clean energy park in Kern County, CA and other locations at CRC reservoirs in the state. The JV also working on capturing and storing flue gas from the Elk Hills Power plant and working with developers who want to build alternative fuel projects such as hydrogen, Di-Methyl Ether, renewable gasoline and blue ammonia products in the state where we can capture and store their C02.    Jan 2024 — Present · Long Beach, CA, US

   I joined Carbon TerraVault Joint Venture (”CTV JV”) as its General Manager effective Jan 16, 2024. The entity is a JV with Brookfield Renewable Partners LP (NYSE: BEP) and California Resources Corporation (NYSE: CRC) the largest independent oil and natural gas producer in California, who is committed to energy transition in the sector. CTV JV was funded with an initial commitment from the Brookfield Global Transition Fund of $500 million with potential further commitments in excess of $1B. Brookfield Renewable is the flagship listed renewable power company of Brookfield Asset Management, a leading global alternative asset manager with approximately One Trillion Dollars of assets under management. CTV JV was set up in 2022 to provide for capture, transportation, and storage of C02 from industrial sources in California. In early 2025 the US EPA granted us the first 4 Class VI permits for carbon dioxide injection and storage in CTV’s 26-R reservoir located in the Elk Hills Field in Kern County, CA. The permits to construct became final and the wells were successfully drilled and recompleted in May of 2025. The Class VI injection wells are a milestone as they represent California’s first use of underground C02 sequestration and the first using a depleted oil & natural gas field in the US for such purpose. Further, CTV JV is about to commission its first capture and storage project (35R) to remove C02 from the inlet gas stream at CRC’s cryogenic gas plant to store 100 KTPA of C02. CTV has also partnered with several clean technology companies to develop greenfield projects in California to produce various products downstream such as clean hydrogen, ammonia, renewable dimethyl ether, natural gas, and gasoline. CTV is also working with data center developers in the state who need clean power solutions in a timely manner. CTV JV is targeting the injection of 5 million tons per annum of C02 by 2027 from the above projects and others in the pipeline.
