ABOUT ROBERT GREEN

I am a pre-construction professional with a passion for our urban landscape. Having worked on projects such as airport expansion, health care facility improvements and commercial and residential high rise developments, I take pride working on projects which will improve the day to day lives of our neighbours. I am fascinated by how people move through and live in their cities and enjoy being involved with projects from an early stage, collaborating with the design team to develop projects to best meet objectives. I am skilled in value and costing analysis, scheduling and logistical planning while building a strong team to get the project off the planning table, into the ground and change our skylines!I have always been interested in the built environment. As a kid I would be found building lego castles, drawing houses or holding a hammer for my dad while he completed a DIY project. This passion meant it was natural for me to enter the construction and property field pursuing a degree in quantity surveying at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, UK. Following graduation, I spent two years traveling around Canada working as a drywaller’s labourer in Vancouver and in a ski shop in Lake Louise. With my Canadian visa expired and a brief spell back in the UK, I knew I wanted to make Canada my new home so set about applying to move permanently and put my degree to use working in the construction field. In my spare time I enjoy waking up at 5am on Saturday mornings to watch Scottish football (I am a glutton for punishment!), being outdoors in the mountains and city parks or catching the latest band traveling through town.Specialties: cost advice, risk analysis, procurement, value engineering, supply chain management, whole life costing, construction management, quantity take-off, mentoring, communications, collaborative team building, innovation
