ABOUT ROBERT GRAVES

I have worked for small and large operations in technical support roles as well as very large operational teams. Experience in ten US states, and overseas in the countries of Canada, Australia, Uganda, and South Africa. I have lead both union operations and non-union shops, and know how to take a direction for a corporate strategy, build and align my team to deliver on targets at all service and performance levels. I started my career on an exploration project in S Carolina & Georgia for BHP where I began to learn about the team model. Next I started as an underground operator for Barrick, Bullfrog mine, in Nevada. I then went back to school in chase of a MS at Auburn. While in Alabama I worked on two different tantalum projects in Coosa County (historic Tin Belt). Industrial minerals came next, specifically vermiculite. An operation in South Carolina as a Mine Manager in charge of all operations, contractor management, permitting, exploration/closure. Almost seven years in vermiculite before moving to Vermont and a position with Rio Tinto managing in a talc operation. A D&B mine, mine ops, mill ops, and rail/truck loading. While there I toke part in a due diligence project in Uganda for a brown field. I spent a few months working in South Africa and Uganda in early 2007. Since a position for RTA in Australia as a production superintendant. At this operation we move about 24 million tonnes of product, and we both clear and reclaim about hectares of land per year. Specialties: My strongest area of management is leadership and development of people. I have a strong ability to build and form teams toward achieving objective outcomes, while working under a wide variety of operational constraints.
