Ensures all training and education requirements are met.•Develops, implements, reviews, and revises departmental policies and protocols to assure the safety and security of thehealth system. •Provides guidance to contract personnel of UKHS’s activities and security functions, utilizing knowledge of establishedpolicies, procedures, and practices.•Define and guide ad-hoc response to mitigate physical and non-physical threats or potential threats to health systememployees.• Maintains responsibility for departmental budget.Lead a multi-disciplinary team of security/public safety, clinical, emergency management, and leadership team members toconduct ongoing threat assessments as required by The Joint Commission and other accreditation and regulatory agencies.•Directs the development of an effective strategy to assess and mitigate risk, manage crises and incidents, maintain continuityof operations, and safeguard the organization.•Responsible for the oversight of the recruitment, education & training, promotion, discipline, and termination of health systemsecurity supervisors and officers.• Performs staff evaluations/development and manages employee relations, including disciplinary actions when necessary.• Ensures staff members are trained in their roles.• Ensures timesheets and/or certifications are up to date and correctly entered in the system.
