ABOUT ROBERT FRANK
Strong technical leader with over 30 years of experience in the structural restoration, building envelope waterproofing and consulting industry. Starting out in the field as a laborer for a professional caulking and waterproofing contractor in Cocoa Florida, circa 1986, then working as a concrete restoration and waterproofing mechanic, moving on to become superintendent for a large structural restoration and waterproofing company for over 10 years. Kerns-Whitehouse and Associates (Structural Engineers, Building Envelope and Forensic Consultants) hired me as a project manager in 2007. Karins Engineering acquired KWA in 2015 and today I am a Senior Project Manager, Florida Certified Building Inspector, Florida Certified Building Official, Building Forensics and Building Envelope Waterproofing Consultant specializing in multi-family structural restoration and waterproofing projects. I also perform condition surveys of distressed properties, provide project manuals, technical specifications and bid documents for multi-million dollar exterior restoration and commercial roof replacement projects. I provide contract administration and project quality control/ threshold inspection services during major restoration projects. I also perform forensic investigations, provide reports of findings and cost estimates for repair of commercial properties, insurance claims, and for construction defect (558) cases. Florida condominium milestone inspections, new construction waterproofing plan review and consulting during construction, and expert witness services are also part of my every day work activities. I am a proud member of the International Code Council as well as the Florida West Coast International Concrete Repair Institute (FLWCICRI) where I currently serve on the Board of Directors.
