A strategic, Board-level initiative, this is a 6 year, multi-hundred million dollar project that is the first of its kind in the world. Hydro One is replacing an end-of-life AMI 1.0 system with a new, advanced AMI 2.0 system supporting 1.5M customers over a challenging square kilometer square mile) rural service territory. It is also a strategic initiative for grid modernization through the delivery of grid-edge AMI 2.0-enabled meter “apps”, grid sensors and grid automation devices.Direct a team of 250 internal and partner staff to address the novel challenge of decommissioning of an end-of-life AMI 1.0 network while simultaneously building an AMI 2.0 network, while maintaining billing quality and a seamless customer experience.Built a project delivery organization unprecedented at Hydro One. Eschewed organizational boundaries and implemented novel project delivery methods that are operating effectively across a breath of business units.Implemented a culture with a relentless focus on safety, financial discipline, quality delivery and innovation to address the novel challenges faced by the project.
