About Robert del Greco
I officially retired from Robert Morris University on September 1, 2018. I accepted a position at Robert Morris University in January of 2009, after having served as a classroom teacher, principal and superintendent of schools for 34 years in the public school system. I served for 3 1/2 years as the Elementary Department Head in the School of Education and Social Sciences, facilitating the university\'s program changes to meet the new PDE certification requirements for Early Childhood and Middle Level Education. I resigned as Department Head effective May 31, 2012 to take on the new challenges of Field Placement Coordinator. I assumed the role of Field Placement Coordinator on June 1, 2013, holding that position through December of 2017. I started teaching at RMU with assistant professor status and in 2014 was promoted to associate professor. Upon my hiring I initially taught at the undergraduate and graduate level, focusing on teacher preparation and leadership management, I then moved into RMU\'s doctoral program, teaching leadership theory courses to doctoral students while continuing to teach masters level candidates in leadership management. From 2012 to 2013 I designed and developed RMU\'s Principal Certification Program, the I-LEAD Program (Leadership Experiences and Achievements by Design) with my colleague, Dr Bruce Golmic. We received PDE approval and in 2014 launched our first cohort of K-12 principal candidates. Since then, Dr. Golmic and I co-taught four subsequent cohorts of principal candidates through the summer of 2018 until my official retirement from Robert Morris University on September 1, 2018.
