Monitors and manages the MRP system to plan and purchase supplier raw materials -Designs and implements a pull system such as the “Kanban-based” (just-in-time), shop floor scheduling system to meet customer need dates and minimize inventory-Perform cycle counts, update the cycle count log according to the A,B,C analysis set by cycle count procedure- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements of various agencies (e.g. US Customs), ethical practices, and internal controls-Assists with the receiving department and the storage of raw materials throughout the plant-Verifies perpetual inventory against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies and variances in perpetual- Identifies and implements opportunities to reduce transaction costs, freight expenses, and inventory levels-Provides project (program) management support for the division, including coordinating, tracking, expediting and reporting on current inventory- Participates in inter-departmental teams working towards continuous process improvement, elimination of wastes, and simultaneous engineering-Develops and maintains on going ethical supplier relationships that foster a desire to furnish new ideas and promote cooperation with Lear

ABOUT ROBERT D. STEPHENSON
I currently serve as a Material Operations Specialist and CBR Analyst at Lear Corporation, supporting MRP requirements and material operations for an all-electric vehicle facility, managing supplier releases, material flow, and logistics for shipments to six MODS for General Motors. Providing cross-functional support to production, quality, and engineering teams while maintaining compliance with IATF16949 and safety standards. I also have the privilege of leading the materials department in launching a startup research and development facility, where I collaborated with Lear Eagle Ottawa, TCS Modularity, and Flexair. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue advancing my expertise and driving success alongside such a talented team within an exceptional organization. Outside of school, I find great satisfaction when making connections and helping others. My most rewarding experiences have been volunteering with organizations that support individuals who have special needs. Through these opportunities, I’ve enjoyed motivating and empowering the individuals, creating safe and fun environments, and making a real impact on our fellow human beings. In 2013, I also initiated the formation of a team for the Hydrocephalus Association and have continued to act as the team leader in an ongoing effort to raise awareness and funds for this non-profit organization.
