I direct and manage the overall activities of Metro\'s rail transportation operation at all rail operating facilities. Currently, I lead Metro\'s Rail Operations Control Center, Metro\'s Rail Instruction Department and Rail Field Operations for accident investigation. In addition, I develop vision, goals, objectives and establish plans and priorities for Metro’s rail operations team. I direct resources, compliance with rules, policies, state regulations, and adherence to labor contracts. I monitor rail system performance, develop, review, and evaluate contract proposals of contractors, consultants and venders. I serve as a Authority liaison/ ombudsman with community groups and respond to community interests. I conduct disciplinary hearings, testify and worker compensation hearings, and court cases. This position requires I prepares complex reports, correspondences, and operating procedures. I promotes and maintain a safe work environment while complying with all of Metro’s policies, procedures and safety rules. I’m knowledgeable of theories, principles, practices of public transportation, applicable local and state laws, rules and regulations governing public transit systems. Experienced in Modern Management Theory, and interact with various levels of Authority executive ranks, outside agencies and local government. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, plan financial and staffing needs.
