About Robert Brodmerkel

Robert Lawrence Brodmerkel was born in Manhattan, New York. He spent most of his life growing up on Long Island. He attended Bayport-Blue Point Public High School, which he graduated from in 1995. After High School he attended Suffolk Community College and majored in Radio, Television and Film. After receiving his degree he went on to work for a local production company producing local commercials and promotional videos. In fall of 1997 Robert teamed up with fellow friend and classmate Ken Bogardt and formed their own company, Edgewater Pictures. Together they produced many short films, a feature film and also worked on several other productions in the television and film industry. Robert lives in Babylon, New York. He had taken some time off from the production end of making films, in 2013 he returned to write and direct an episode of the award winning web series \"In Fear Of\" The Series had two season on the internet and was turned into a feature length anthology that was available on Amazon Prime and YouTube. He was an acting series producer, but left the company in 2018 to work on YouTube content with his daughter. He was best known as Horror Bob, the webmaster and film critic of The Horror Review, one of the first horror based review websites on the internet. In 2006 he also started Parentalsite.com a website that reviews films from a parents point of view. Parentalsite.com was shut down in 2011 and in October of 2014, The Horror Review was sold to Journal Stone Publishing and is still active today. One of the many highlights of running The Horror Review was when Pulitzer-recipient and famed film critic Roger Ebert called Robert and his partner (International Bestselling Author) Michael Gunrow, “very admirable,” for being the only ones to complete a challenge set forth by Mr. Ebert. In May of 2015 Robert and his oldest daughter developed a Youtube nature Show/Channel A nature show for kids hosted by a kid who loves nature. In 2018 his daughter would develop Foggy Wolf Animation and go on to be one of most successful ventures he ever worked on. While he is semi- retired from the entertainment industry he he been featured on some horror and paranormal podcasts such as “Off to the Witch” and has mentioned up and coming horror film critics and influencers.
