UPDATE 6/12/2025: Promoted to Technology Scheduler II. Completed Systems Programmer apprenticeship program in order to be able to broaden my support skills for the mainframe team here at IFBI. Continue to provide expert level support, customer service, and knowledge transfer as the SME on CA7. Have implemented more ARF functionality for late job notifications and automated abend recovery. Currently involved in a project to utilize a new CA 7 Observability tool to pass job end data into other tools for automatic trouble ticket creation. My first 2.5 years at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance have been productive and rewarding. My predecessor did a fantastic job of documenting everything and handing off the CA-7 support task before he retired. I have recently implemented some ARF (Automatic Recovery Facility) functions that have solved some issues with frequent failures and critical path late notification. I have been able to further automate much of the holiday and EOM scheduling to avoid a lot of manual, error prone intervention. The people at IFBI are fantastic, easy to work with, and the company is doing well.
