Extensive experience in directing laboratory animal care and use support service programs in both the Military and pharmaceutical industrial environment since 1968. Provided direction in development of standard operating procedures, conducted medical research, interfaced with scientific investigators in both a research institute community and a medical school community as well as upgrading of animal care and research facilities. Assured certain aspects of regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state regulations, accreditation standards and organizational policies. Advised senior management of laboratory animal issues applicable to the company\'s research and development programs. Broad experience in personnel and fiscal management as well as the development and implementing of laboratory animal training programs for technicians, investigators, and graduate students. Provided oversight of two accredited military biomedical animal care and use programs which included preparation for two (2) successful site visits. Provided direction in preparing the Pfizer Groton animal care and use program for six (6) successful site visits that resulted in Continued Full Accreditation status for the organization. Lead the Pfizer Accreditation Readiness Team that is responsible for working with Pfizer sites in preparation for their triennial site visits or first site visit through review of their program description and conducting site visits to evaluate their programs of animal care and use.
