About Robert Blumberg
Employment Lawyer: I have spent my entire career representing employers regarding all manner of employment and labor issues. A substantial portion of my practice includes providing advice and counseling to employers facing day to day issues of employee relations, discipline and wage and hour questions. My advice practice is focused on helping employers manage potential litigation risks while still permitting employers to focus on managing their business.I spend the majority of my time litigating matters in state and federal court, as well as before various administrative agencies. I have been the lead attorney on numerous litigation matters including claims for wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation brought under state and federal law. I have also been lead litigation counsel in state and federal court class actions, including cases asserting wage and hour and discrimination claims. In addition, I have represented employers in claims for misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition. I am among the Firm’s experts in issues concerning leaves of absence and paid sick leave. I have been lead counsel in both jury and bench trials. I have filed briefs and appeared in the Court of Appeals for California on several occasions. During my career, I have been very involved in law firm management. I was the Managing Shareholder of Littler Mendelson’s Los Angeles office for more than ten years, from August 2007 until December 2017. During this time period, we added a second office in downtown Los Angeles, and grew from 45 attorneys to nearly 100. In addition to my active litigation practice, I was responsible for helping the office’s attorneys and support staff provide the best possible representation for employers. As an employer, this role also provided me with additional perspective regarding the issues facing employers on a daily basis. In addition to work in local management, I was honored to be a member of Littler Mendelson\'s Board of Directors, serving two terms, from January 2015 until January 2019. In this role, I assisted the Firm\'s Managing Directors setting the goals and direction as the Firm continued as the finest labor and employment law firm in the world.Specialties: Wage and Hour Class Action and PAGA LitigationWrongful Termination LitigationSexual Harassment LitigationAdvising Employers regarding employee issuesTrade Secret and Unfair Competition Litigation
