ABOUT ROBERT BEWICK
I am the Executive Director looking after Technical Excellence and Innovation for Global Mining in WSP. I represent this space on the Global Mining Leadership team. My main focus is providing guidance and direction to the mining technical communities, mining strategic initiatives, and innovation investments. I am also an internationally recognized mining engineer who focuses on rock engineering applied to value creation for underground and open pit operating mines and projects. I have international experience solving underground deep high stress mining and cave mining challenges. I have completed work on site for mines in Canada, USA, Sweden, South Africa, Australia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia. In addition, due to my director role, I have had the opportunity to cut across the entire mine service sector allowing me to identify value across multiple disciplines from mine geology through to mine closure.
