About Robert Ashcroft
I lead the National Business Advisory Services team at Northern Trust. We help the owners of private businesses develop and execute strategic reviews and succession planning. We can advise on the merits of selecting suitable M&A advisors to assist with the sale of a minority stake through to a majority stake of a business. We are also able to consider other options, such as additional leverage for dividend recaps through to ESOPs. We provide honest, unbiased insights that help business owners choose the best options for achieving liquidity and preserving legacies. Prior to joining Northern Trust I spent 17 years as an investment banker advising on over 200 mid- market transactions. The majority of these transactions were company sales, though I have supported companies with acquisitions and finance raisings.
