Following the successful completion of the Junior Program, I now lead Data Science and Artificial Intelligence initiatives within the Civil Aviation department. My work supports strategic goals across performance optimisation, production efficiency, and digital transformation.Key responsibilities include- Designing and delivering data-driven solutions to optimise the supply chain and production workflows- Driving performance through advanced analytics, automation, and AI applications- Supporting and evolving our data infrastructure and internal toolset ecosystem- Providing expert-level insights to cross-functional teams and leadership- Conducting internal trainings to upskill departments in data literacy and AI adoptionI work closely with engineering, operations, and business units to ensure that data science efforts are aligned with operational excellence and long-term value creation.

ABOUT ROBERT ANDREI TIU
Hi, nice to see you here! My name is Robert. Currently A Data Scientist at the AI Center of Excellence @ MTU Aero Engines, shaping the future of the aviation industry. I have a Bachelor\'s in Computer Science and a double degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from Politecnico di Milano and Université de Rennes 1, part of the EIT Digital Double Degree program. Natively from Romania, spent most of my life in Italy (between Rome and Milan), moved briefly to France and currently in Münich, Germany. I was an intern at MTU Aero Engines and I wrote my thesis on the potential of artificial intelligence in the aerospace industry. My experience also includes being a a peer-to-peer tutor and assistant for C programming (focusing on algorithms and data structures) and as a marketing assistant for the international marketing office for Politecnico di Milano. I also participated in various Data Science oriented competitions, such as PoliMi Recommender Systems Challenge 2021, Google DSC\'s beginner ML track and EIT Digital \'AI In FinTech\' summer school to enhance my data analysis and visualization and model-building skills. In the future I would see myself leading a team of data engineers through a challenging and peculiar project, further evolving the usage AI in day-to-day activities. If you can\'t find me in my room coding (possibly automating some boring task through AI or extracting stats from my daily life), then I might be in the kitchen cooking an amazing gourmet meal. If I\'m not there either, then I am probably off to a fashion show, the basketball court or the gym! I would say that my main strength is grit: it doesn\'t matter what the job is, I will endure and persevere until it gets done, the proper way. My studies in Computer Science allowed me to master fundamentals such as a can-do mentality, critical thinking, problem solving and time management. That\'s not all though: I believe a good engineer should understand the full context of a business, which is why I think my experience in marketing, strategy and entrepreneurship allowed me to develop important skills such as communication, teamwork and decision-making. “Enthusiasm is common.
