ABOUT ROB CUMMINGS

I was formerly employed as a Managing Director & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Falfurrias Capital Partners, a Charlotte-based private equity firm that acquires or invests in middle-market businesses. As an MD at Falfurrias Capital, I provided management oversight and guidance to Falfurrias\' portfolio companies, as well as led various strategic technology initiatives for the businesses. In addition, I participated as a member of the deal team leading the technology and operations diligence for prospective investments at the firm. I made a personal decision to leave PE to focus on other personal and professional endeavours.During my tenure at Falfurrias Capital, I recognized a technology gap in the mergers & acquisitions (M&A) industry and co-founded DealCloud, a deal management software platform that is now in use at over firms participating in M&A transactions. I personally architected the DealCloud software platform and was instrumental in growing the business into a major Software-as-Service provider to the M&A industry. DealCloud raised over $10m in institutional VC funding and I later exited in August 2018 when Intapp acquired the business. Intapp later went public and now trades on the NASDAQ exchange.I have a unique blend of Private Equity and Software Development expertise. I was previously the President and CEO of MobileHWY, a software technology small business headquartered in Charlotte, NC. I led the overall operations of the business prior to being acquired by Iron Data Solutions out of Atlanta, GA. Prior to MobileHWY and during my 25-year professional career, I have held various senior management roles at enterprise software companies PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards, Chordiant Software, and Charlotte technology startup, YOUcentric.I am active in the early stage venture community serving as both an investor and advisor. I am also passionate about working with college students and serve as the Executive in Residence at the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs at Virginia Tech and co-teach an entrepreneur MBA class at UNC Charlotte. I also guest speak at various local Universities including Queens University, Wake Forest, and Johnson & Wales. I am 2nd chair for the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs at Virginia Tech, serve on the Pamplin Advisory Council, and formerly chaired the Charlotte chapter of Venture for America. I also work closely with Charlotte Center City Partners on various Uptown Charlotte initiatives.I graduated from Virginia Tech and have an MBA from Seton Hall University.
