He has provided guidance to two Governors, three Maryland Secretaries of Agriculture, as well as the Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture and Congress. His leadership and diplomacy have been recognized in each and every role he has served. A native of Geneseo, New York but raised primarily in the Central and Livermore Valleys of California. Married to Dr. Amy Ordakowski Burk, a Full Professor within the University of Maryland - College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and has 2 daughters.
