ABOUT ROBBIE CRABTREE

Aside from my studies I have engaged in a wide number of events ranging from commercial work experience to charity engagements. My village has been fundraising for a new shop and for this I was the head of social media. For the shop I have created multiple social media accounts and I am also developing a web page for them. I engaged in a work placement at two of the top wealth investors in the country, Brewin Dolphin, and Quilters Cheviot. This allowed me to see into the eye of a wealth manager and gave me a view into the life of after graduation. Both wealth managers were constantly looking for postgraduates with computer science skills, as well as some small retail work. This strengthened my desire to study computer science as it is increasingly becoming an invaluable asset in the economy. I also competed in Young Enterprise where our company, called Millennium, reached the regional finals, winning four awards. For Millennium I was head of social media development, for Millennium I created a Facebook page, Instagram and a Twitter page where we were constantly updating our customers on our new products and deals. Young Enterprise allowed me to improve my public speaking and also my teamwork skills. To help my teamwork skills, I was part of my previous college\'s rugby team, King\'s Worcester. There I played at a high level, where constant communication is needed on and off the pitch. This allowed me to create very good and lasting friendships and also very good communication and verbal skills. This has proved very important in my life, where interviews needed a quick, but concise, response to their questions. The rugby allowed me to improve my fitness, this proved very important for my three charity treks, where overall myself, alongside family and friends, raised over pounds as a group. The first trek was up Mount Kenya and the second trek in Kerala/India. The most recent trek was to Ethiopia, summiting Ras Dashen (4550m).
