About Robert Bennett

I\'m a passionate environmental professional currently serving as a Technical Specialist for NARUC focused on EV charging and the distribution system for state Public Utility Commissions. I enjoy finding innovative solutions to climate, energy, and sustainability challenges. I have had broad experience in climate and energy policy through my experience with the NC Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA) and the NC Department of Environmental Quality (NC DEQ), where I focused on topics such as offshore wind, the NC Carbon Plan, climate resilience, community solar, energy efficiency, and more. I recognize the monumental challenge that anthropogenic climate change poses to society. My career goal is to continue using my skills as a leader, researcher, communicator, collaborator, and problem solver to find science-based solutions to our climate crisis and environmental issues. In addition to my passion for the environment, I also have a passion for coaching lacrosse. For four seasons, I was the Head Coach at Culbreth Middle School in Chapel Hill, where I taught students important life lessons, provided leadership, and built a culture of belonging that students bought into and enjoyed. In my spare time, I enjoy being active, spending time with friends and family, watching college sports, and visiting the beach.
