About Robert Amezquita
Translating science, data, and ambition into portfolio choices that matter.I sit at the intersection of science and strategy. I am currently a Corporate Strategy Lead at Sanofi where my work focuses on shaping our enterprise-level strategic agenda — from Portfolio Strategy Week and Strategy Days through Board-facing strategic seminars — to drive value creation across our pipeline and inform where we place our bets.I’m driven by a simple premise: competitive advantage in biopharma is earned through differentiation. That means making sharper choices about what we pursue, why it matters for patients, and how it positions the company to win.I bring a scientific foundation and an operator’s mindset. Before joining Corporate Strategy, I helped build AI-enabled biomarker discovery and governance capabilities as a Principal Data Scientist in Sanofi’s mRNA Center of Excellence. Prior to Sanofi, I led computational immunology efforts at Pfizer to advance multiple immuno-oncology programs from concept to first-in-human studies — pressure-testing biology, generating decision-grade evidence, and aligning stakeholders around go/no-go inflection points. My training is in immunology and translational sciences. I earned my PhD in Immunology from Yale and completed my postdoctoral work at Fred Hutch, where I helped pioneer single-cell RNAseq and computational approaches to understand resistance mechanisms in first-generation CAR-T therapy for multiple myeloma. I now pair that scientific depth with financial and strategic rigor, enhancing my skills across the business spectrum through my pursuit of an MBA at Babson. What I enjoy most is building alignment in high-stakes environments — creating narratives that let leadership see the “why,” not just the “what,” and designing governance that turns strategy into accountable execution. I aspire to connect the dots, bringing forward our immense talent to create new products that improve people\'s lives.
