ABOUT ROB WILMOT

I\'ve always been proud to be \"HR\", from the days of being \'the trainee\' up to and including director roles. I\'ve had a most enjoyable career so far but the biggest and most exciting challenge will always be the next one. I\'ve seen leadership in all its forms, some magnificent, and have had the privilege to work alongside some great people. I’ve also had the benefit of managing and delivering HR in UK, European and international organisations, in a variety of sectors. Whilst a great deal of my career has been in the energy/nuclear/renewables industry, 10+ years in consultancy has given me invaluable insights into a much wider range of companies and sectors; financial services, retail, banking, electronics, telecoms, utilities, and waste, together with interesting and challenging assignments in central and local government, social housing and charities. What is satisfaction in HR- When employers recognise the link between great people and an improving bottom-line- When the people agenda is an integral part of corporate strategy- When \"most important asset\" is evidenced by actions, not words - When \"managerial excellence\" is about achieving results by and through the efforts of your team. What do we need to change- When great employees are undervalued, underutilised and underdeveloped- When struggling employees are unsupported, and vulnerable employees exploited- When underperforming or undeserving employees thrive because employers do nothing.
