ABOUT ROB WADE

Rob Wade was named Head Coach of MidAmerica Nazarene in May of 2017. In wake of the Covid 19 epidemic the 2020 season was cut short leaving the Pioneers to end the short season at 8-3. 2020 showed great promise with a very talented young squad including returning sophomore All American Kaleigh Bayless picking up where she left off as one of the nation’s most feared hitters. Freshman Pitcher Alexis Wilds was among the nations leaders in strikeouts when the quarantine began. Coach Wade’s Pioneers finished the 2019 season with a 19-26 after fighting off several key injuries, the Pioneers qualified for their 3rd straight heart of America conference tournament. In 2018 coach Wade guided the program to a 35-win season (35-21) and a 30-win (30-21) season in his inaugural 2017 season at the helm. In his first three years coach Wade has posted an 92-71 record at MNU. On April 26th coach Wade posted his 100th collegiate win in a 7-6 victory over Clarke University. Wade’s teams have produced 11 All conference players and one NAIA 1st team All American. Under coach Wade’s tenure Kaleigh Bayless became MNU’s 3rd NAIA All-American, and the programs 2nd 1st team All-American. Bayless was also an NFCA 1st team All-American as well as gathering the Heart of America Conference’s Player of the year, 1st team outfielder and the conference freshman of the year. Bayless batted.525 with 14 home runs and 25 stolen bases to go along with a.971 slugging percentage. Her.525 season batting average shattered the schools record of.487. Under Wade’s guidance players such as Emily Robinson finished second in the nation in 2018 with 25 doubles (2nd all-time at MNU) Robinson also had 20 wins in the circle in 2018 that tied her 2nd all-time at MNU. Coach Wade’s players also excel in the classroom with numerous NAIA scholar award winners to date. Prior to Joining the MNU family coach Wade spent 2 seasons as the head coach at Avila University and was tasked with building a program as the University’s first full time softball coach. Coach Wade recruited arguably Avila’s most successful recruiting class that later went on to win two Heart of America Conference championships. Coach Wade was previously the head softball coach at Blue Valley North high school in Overland Park Kansas from 20••••11. Prior to college coaching coach Wade founded and built the KC Zephyrs amateur softball organization he aided in the development and recruiting of over 50 student athletes to the Division one level while earning over 800 victories at the Gold/Premier or A level.
