ABOUT ROB TURK

Rob Turk joined the Government of Canada’s Department of Innovation in 2009 and has been working with teams in diverse aspects of strategic partnerships, regulatory modernization, economic growth and innovation. His areas of expertise include: facilitating groups and business leaders to identify challenges and build a common agenda for positive change; regulatory engagement and policy development; and building strategic visions and operational plans through co-development with executives and employees. Recently, Rob has led several large-scale efforts to bring business and government together to support regulatory modernization and economic growth at Health Canada, Transport Canada, Innovation, Science & Economic Development, and Treasury Board Secretariat - in addition to working with international bodies such as the OECD and the World Economic Forum. Rob also teaches Regulatory Design at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Rob has a passion for human relationships through working with motivated individuals and teams who want to grow. He was educated at the University of Victoria in Human Geography, Business and Occupational and Environmental Health, where he was named an Academic All Canadian for his achievement as an honour roll student and top Canadian varsity athlete. He went on to travel the world for several years, playing for Canada\'s National Rugby team on the international Rugby 7\'s world series. Rob is an active leader in his community coaching rugby at the University of Ottawa and within the Canadian Armed Forces, including the national team who competed in the International Defence World Cup, in England.
