About Rob Pyatt
I assist entrepreneurs, business owners, and universities to increase their value by protecting and growing their intellectual property (IP) portfolios, especially patents. I run POPP Law (TM), a practice at the intersection of physics, optics, and photonics with patent law, which is based at Merchant & Gould P.C. Many of today\'s innovations in medical devices, environmental engineering, and communications and computing are being driven by physics, optics, and photonics. I am a scientist at heart, and physics is a second language. On a practical level, I get at the heart of patent-protectable innovations that use physics, optics, and photonics. Some of these patent-protectable innovations include:• X-ray scanning equipment• Vision analysis and laser eye care devices• Advanced imaging and compression technologies • Chemical sensing technologies • Environmental security• Fiber optics network and devices• Quantum systems• Laser systems• Robotic systemsProtecting the rights of innovative companies, among other things, allows them to monetize their inventions more effectively and increase their valuations with robust patent portfolios. I work with a team of patent, trademark, business, and IP litigation attorneys who are some of the best and are passionate about protecting our clients\' rights. Some of my most rewarding experiences have been in cross-functional settings involving different scientific disciplines and legal expertise.
