As a member of Saferworld\'s Executive Management Team I contribute to organisational strategy and development and support the Executive Director in leading the organisation. I lead Saferworld\'s policy, advocacy and communications division from our HQ in London, where I manage global programmes including research, analysis, advocacy, technical support and communications. With a 25 year track record in effective human rights, development and peacebuilding work and over 16 years at Saferworld in a number of senior management roles, I have both led and supported the development of key policy areas including: peacebuilding responses to crises and threats; community security and police reform; small arms and light weapons control & international arms transfer control (Arms Trade Treaty); gender, peace and security; conflict-sensitive development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG16+). I lead our advocacy teams in London, Brussels and Washington DC and I\'m responsible for overseeing our work in China. I also oversee our external helpdesk facilities with governments and financial institutions. Before joining Saferworld in 2006 I led successful national and international campaigns for Amnesty International UK and worked as a consultant for a range of organisations including Oxfam, Landmine Action and the Cluster Munitions Coalition. I hold a Master’s Degree in Area Studies (Latin America) from the Institute of Latin American Studies, University of London, and a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish.
