ABOUT ROB MORRIS

I\'ve been teaching school and coaching for 40 years in rural Wyoming and in Idaho, and have been writing as a second career for about twenty-three years. As a teacher, I began in 1985 in Medicine Bow, Wyoming, where I taught 7th-12th English and Social Studies and coached Cross-Country and Track. I then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1989 and spent 30 years in District #91 at Clair E. Gale, Eagle Rock, Emerson, and Idaho Falls High School. I coached track during this time, as well as boys varsity and JV soccer for both Idaho Falls High School and Hillcrest High School. In 2020, I started teaching in Bonneville School District #93 at Rocky Mountain Middle School. I continue to coach track. I left behind many good memories in District #91, but absolutely love #93 and find its leadership to be proactive, supportive, and far-sighted. It has had the vision to stay ahead of its facilities issues over the years, recently building a brand-new high school and junior high on land procured years before. As a teacher, I have been named Teacher of the Year 3 times, twice at Eagle Rock Junior High and once at Idaho Falls High School. I was also Post-Register Teacher of Southeast Idaho two times. I piloted a program at IFHS called Learning Strategies, that was successful in helping struggling high school students improve grades and attendance. It was expanded the second year to three sections per tri. The following year it was cut due to funding issues. I taught mainly World Geography, World History (Western Civ), World History (Eastern Civ), as well as English as needed in both day and night school. I spent four years at Skyline\'s Night Continuation High School, and one year at Emerson, and piloted an alternative program for junior high students at Gale. I spent many summers teaching summer school as well. At RMMS, I teach 7th Grade World History (Eastern Civ, with a bit of Geography and a little Western Civ, Greece and Rome). I\'m also Head Track Coach. As a writer, I\'ve done a lot less lately due to Covid. My specialty areas in history are World War II Military Aviation (especially European Theatre), World War II in general, Swiss Internment in World War II, and the American Civil War. I\'ve had around 15 published books, including a commissioned history of the U.S. 95th Bomb Group (H) in World War II. One book, Untold Valor, can be found in 1,270 public and university libraries worldwide and has had five printings. My next book is on the AC-47 \"Spooky\" Gunship program in Vietnam.I am a Stage 3 Cancer Survivor.
