About Rob Merrill

In my more than two decades working in the media, I\'ve done everything from shooting, editing and anchoring my own newscast (Hello, Cheyenne!), to launching the first network evening news blog (I never asked Brian Williams to lie, not once), to executive producing live red carpet coverage at the Grammys and the Oscars for The Associated Press. Moved to New York\'s capital region in 2015 and spent four years as part of a team responsible for the live video production of every home sporting event at the University at Albany. Had a blast, but college tuitions are expensive, so I took on a new challenge in 2020 directing Communications at the New York State Public Employees Federation, a union representing professional, scientific and technical workers across the state. My team handles all internal and external communications, making sure our members and the public know just how critical PEF members are when it comes to delivering the public services New Yorkers depend on every day.
