WORK HISTORY
Network Telecommunications Engineer @Barden Network Engineering Ltd
A Fibre Network Planner (Surveyor) is an essential role which has to meet all requirement sfor carrying out FTTP installations. During a survey, I have the knowledge and training to identify all environmental situations that require special attention. The proposed fibre optics route will be evaluated for its suitability to support the planned installation procedure. One of the main objectives of the survey is to discover all potential pitfalls in the proposed installation operation, to be able to re-plan if required, all so a suitable and sufficient final method can be adopted.Fibre optic splicing involves joining two fibre optic cables together. The other, more common method of joining fibres is called termination or connectorization. There are two methods of fibre optic splicing, fusion splicing and mechanical splicing. As straight forward as that sounds, being out in the field when splicing a job can always throw obstacles your way; whether thats environmental issues or technical issues. You have to have an acute knowledge of both Health & Safety and your surroundings, and high technical skills and knowledge to complete the job to a high standard. Out work is always subject to an audit, so the highest quality is always required.
