I am a Partner within Mills & Reeve\'s corporate commercial health care team and head up our Primary Care and NHS Governance sub-sectors. Within these fields I have particular expertise when it comes to supporting primary care commissioners, providers, networks and those looking to work with such providers(in particular digital providers) navigate the unique practical, legal and regulatory complexities that can sometimes appear insurmountable hurdles to realising their aims.Having a background in dealing with the full range of corporate and commercial transactions (from company start ups, terms of business all the way through to company reorganisations and share/ business sale and acquisitions), I am exceptionally well placed to support anyone needing advice in connection with contract management, market entry, practice acquisitions and disposals, GP partnerships and super partnerships, GP networks, joint ventures, alliance arrangements, the establishment of unique structures and NHS governance related issues.In addition to the work I do for clients, I am exceptionally proud to be driving the Mills & Reeve’s Primary Care & NHS Governance Initiative; an initiative which ensures that the broad and unparalleled experience and expertise that exists across our team is both consolidated and developed in a manner to best support the needs of our NHS, primary care and broader independent health sector clients.My past experience in dealing with complex corporate and commercial matters when allied to the current work I do for my clients means that I am able to approach work with a holistic oversight of both current and impending issues. This enables me to address my clients’ needs in a complete and practical manner.

I am a Partner and Commercial Lawyer within Mills & Reeve\'s Health and Care team, with a particular specialism in Primary Care and Healthcare Governance work. Alongside a skilled team, I enjoy supporting my clients (who range from NHS providers, commissioners and independent GP providers) to efficiently and effectively manage risks but also capitalise on opportunities whether through mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and collaboratives, operational optimisation or otherwise.Whilst my work is broad ranging it has included:The merger, acquisition and disposal of primary care providers.The set up and support of and to some of the largest primary care providers in the UK (including super partnerships).The management of complex contractual disputes for GP providers, ICBs and NHS providers (including partnership disputes and core contract management). The support to national bodies in the negotiation of complex and sector wide contracts and initiatives in the primary care sector.The structuring and set up of subsidiaries for use by NHS providers.The creation of committees in common and shared leadership amongst NHS providers.The disaggregation of NHS providers.The creation of provider collaboratives (including, more recently, a collaboration between NHS providers and GP providers as part of the shift towards community based health care provision).The set up and operation of a law firm as an ABS for a trade union and professional association.
