ABOUT ROB BARTON
Head of Design within the Kier North West region, I am highly experienced in the management of design from inception, stakeholder engagement through to onsite construction and have over 20 years\' experience across a range of sectors. After graduating as an architect in 2002, I worked at numerous architectural practices gaining project experience in a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, retail, leisure, commercial, residential, conservation and religious buildings. After joining Kier as a Design Manager in 2018, I have specialised in the education sector, focusing on higher education, and pre-construction work winning stages, progressing to Head of Design in 2025. Originally educated in sustainability at the Manchester University College of Bioclimatics, I have continued my environmental interest by assisting Kier in their decarbonisation agenda whilst monitoring legislative changes in building performance standards to target a zero-carbon sustainable future.
