ABOUT ROB ANDREWS DIPNCRQ

Former Warrant Officer ( Sergeant Major) in the British Army who served for over 27 years. I relocated to Muscat, Oman to take up a contract as an instructor for the Royal Oman Police. On completion of this contract I returned home to the UK & was employed by Safety For Design in Whitchurch, Shropshire as a Health & Safety Advisor within the construction industry. Safety For design is predominantly a Principal Designers and my job was as the H&S Advisor on numerous projects in New House Building, Developments, live projects within the Food Industry and demolitions for numerous clients. I also acted as PD on some projects. In May 2017 I was appointed Environmental Health and safety Advisor/manager for Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd covering the south and South West of England. This covered civil engineering projects from Reading all the way down to Penzance in Cornwall. The position also includes having to deal with the clients, clients representatives as well as keeping a good safety culture on our sites. We achieved a Gold award from the Considerate Constructor Scheme for our site in Cornwall, this was through hard work and dedication from the entire team as well as myself. I believe that I have used my personality well in being able to gain the trust of our employees, this has helped in the education and instruction in maintaining that RAMS are followed, issues are dealt with effectively, the health of our employees is paramount, environmental policies and principals are developed and followed and that our sites are safe, happy and work efficiently. In 2019 I took up a position with International Hospitals Group as H&S Manager. I put my knowledge, experience and expertise to great effect in Oman with diverse workforce’s, where Health, Safety and Environmental in construction is not always the highest priority. During this period I started and completed my NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and safety achieving a Distinction in the final Diploma. In July 2021 I was appointed as the Health and Safety Consultant for Henshalls Health and Safety what is part of of the wider Henshalls Group of insurance brokerages. based in Shropshire, my role is to consult, guide, help and advise commercial clients from many different industries on their H&S obligations and duties to the legislation. This is a very diverse yet very rewarding position. November 2023 saw a new Challenge as H&S Manager (Middle East) for Mellor Entertainment based in Kuwait but covering Saudi and Qatar as well at the present time. We build, maintain and operate theme parks across the globe.
