ABOUT ROARKE LANNING
As a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a Bachelor of Architecture, I am passionate about design that is both innovative and rooted in community. My academic experience, shaped by ten transformative studios, independent research, and collaborative projects, has deepened my ability to approach complex problems creatively, refine technical and visual skills, and champion interdisciplinary collaboration. Now based in Jacksonville, Florida, I am excited to begin the next chapter of my career as an architectural designer, contributing to thoughtful, sustainable, and impactful projects that shape the built environment. I believe architecture extends far beyond buildings, it is a medium for storytelling, cultural expression, and social impact. My work spans architecture, research, service, and the visual arts. As Worthy Architect (President) of the Theodorus Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi, I led initiatives promoting mentorship, service, and professional growth, efforts that helped our chapter earn the 2024 National Community Service Award for our work with the Knoxville Re-Animation Coalition. I also served as a Peer Mentor and Student Ambassador, experiences that reflect my ongoing commitment to supporting future generations of designers.Outside of architecture, I remain deeply engaged in the creative community. My visual art has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, including my solo show SOME FACES at Gallery 1010, the 77th Annual Student Art Competition at Ewing Gallery, and I recently curated the Fidelitas, Amor et Artes exhibition through the UT School of Art. These creative explorations continue to inform my design perspective through an emphasis on composition, materiality, and narrative. As I begin this exciting new chapter in Jacksonville, I am eager to keep learning, designing, and collaborating, shaping environments that reflect and respond to the people and stories they serve
