About Robert Nunez

My passion for technology began at eight years old when I taught myself programming in BASIC. This early curiosity sparked a lifelong interest in problem-solving and shaped my career in data management and IT. Growing up with the motto “usa tu cerebro” (“use your brain”), I developed a habit of tackling challenges with innovation and focus. These skills guide my work every day.As the Head of Data & IT at Kenosha Public Library, I introduced hardware and software upgrades that improved efficiency by 30%. These changes enhanced workflows and created better experiences for library customers. I also manage a $1 million budget. Over four years, I reduced operational costs by 15% through better processes and resource management. These achievements reflect my commitment to serving the community.Outside of my library work, I serve on WiscNet’s Board of Directors. I help create strategies that expand digital networks to support education and economic growth across Wisconsin. I also volunteer with the American Library Association. My work there focuses on advocating for user privacy and creating policies that build trust in technology.In my free time, I read tech blogs and learn new programming languages to stay updated.
