About Rhiannon K. Thoreson

Rhiannon K. Thoreson is a civil litigator who specializes in defending tort, employment, Section 1983, and Title IX claims. She has a strong foundation in legal research and writing. Rhiannon is the Chair of the Women in Law section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. She is a member of Leadership Tulsa and is the Co-Chair of the Tulsa Lawyer Magazine Committee. She serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Tulsa Lawyers for Children and also serves on the Board of Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS). She has a passion for helping victims of crime and is a member of the RAINN Speakers Bureau. Rhiannon earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tulsa, and her master\'s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She worked for several years in the social services field before receiving her juris doctor degree from the University of Tulsa in 2009. While in law school, Rhiannon served as Executive Editor for the Tulsa Law Review and her article was selected for publication. She earned several awards and distinctions including graduating with Highest Honor, Order of the Curule Chair, a Certificate in Health Law, the Robert C. Butler Award for Excellence in Legal Scholarship and Writing, and numerous CALI awards. Rhiannon also speaks and writes about overcoming trauma. Her TEDx Talk, Forgiving the Unforgivable, is available on YouTube and her forthcoming memoir, My Beauty From Ashes, will be released in July 2026.
