   For more than 18 years, my passion to make an impact in the world with visual storytelling and design has led me to run the art department at the independent non-profit Chicago-based In These Times. I have managed and executed the visual branding of the organization which includes having overseen multiple transitions and redesigns of the print publication from the once small national bi-weekly to a larger monthly magazine to multiple iterations of InTheseTimes.com—all while deadlines were met from concept to execution. Most recently, I lead the latest redesign of the organization’s identity, for both print and web. I also manage all freelance photographers, illustrators and designers. It’s one thing to publish mission-based content about social justice/racial inequality issues but to me, it’s also an important thing to practice within the organization, thus making it my goal as creative director to amplify voices that are often left behind through the visual lens. I have successfully garnered a large portfolio of amazing artists, photographers and designers that have excelled at contributing to the national conversation around change.
