Guiding innovation of new CTY offerings as well as ensuring evaluations of our efforts to confirm we are achieving outcomes as anticipated. The research group within CTY reports through this role and is responsible for ongoing studies supporting identification of gifted learners as well as building out a research agenda around pedagogy, curricula, and program approaches to best serve gifted learners in the 21st century. Worked with colleagues at the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Education to be awarded a Delta grant from the Provost’s office for the exploration of generative AI use in education settings. The innovation portion of this role is responsible for being forward looking and thinking about not just what CTY is doing today to support the field of gifted learning, but to also be looking beyond our current approaches to consider novel ways in which CTY, either directly, or with partners, can support these learners and their families. In addition to innovation this role is also responsible for evaluation of existing programs as part of maintaining our accreditation, as well as our own assurance of alignment to mission and continuous improvement of our activities.
