About Ryan Turek

I love building software products! It’s my passion, and I’m incredibly lucky to get to do it every day. I started dreaming about being a software developer when I got my first personal computer (that I didn’t have to share with siblings) at age 10, and I’ve been tinkering and creating ever since.I\'m currently working as the Software Engineering Director for the \"Active Building\" and \"Community Rewards\" products at RealPage. We are working on building the new “LOFT Living” platform, that will include the Leasing, Moving, Portals, Payments and Loyalty experiences. Read more at https://loftliving.com/I’m passionate about building, leading, and working alongside high performing cross-functional teams, and creating useful and beautiful software products. I care deeply about having a strong and positive engineering culture, and I go the extra mile to make sure that is a priority for my team.I believe that continuous learning and experimentation is key to fostering innovation (and preventing burnout) which is why I started “ShortStack”, an annual internal software development and product design Conference with attendees across RealPage in USA/EU/Asia. We cover topics like AI, ML, UX Design & Research, A/B Testing, enterprise architecture, and more. We also promote and facilitate collaboration, share best practices, and build relationships across our global teams. I’ve helped lead agile teams and develop products for clients in the Multifamily (Apartment Living), Family Law / Legal Services, Oil and Natural Gas (Field/Well Management), Accounting, Automotive, Commercial Real Estate Services, eCommerce, Advertising, Video Game, and Investment Management industries. Now I get to use that experience to mentor managers and their teams.I love what I get to do every day! Please read more about my skills and experience in my profile below.
