Engaged as a Protection & Control Engineer in the Transmission wing of KSEBL, the state owned power utility in Kerala.* 15+ years of experience in generation and transmission wings of KSEBL including O&M of power plants and EHV substations.* Have first hand, hands-on experience in - Commissioning of Instrument & Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, P&C panels of generators, power transformers, EHV/MV feeders, Bus Bars, Bus Couplers, Indoor & Outdoor MV/HV Feeder/Transformer panels etc, and troubleshooting the associated control circuitry- Relay Settings & Co-ordination calculations, configuration and parameterization of various types of protective relays (Electro-mechanical/Static/Numerical) of major OEMs like ABB, Alstom, CG, ER, GE, Reyrolle, Schneider, SEL, Siemens, Toshiba, ZIV etc, in the generation, transmission and distribution networks of KSEBL- Protection Scheme verification of 11 kV/22 kV/33 kV/66 kV/110 kV/220 kV/400 kV P&C systems as per standards/drawings/specifications using Omicron CMC 356/ Megger Sverker 780/900/ ISA Plus kits- Fault analysis via Event/Fault Recorder logs- Retrofitting of numerical relays replacing electro-mechanical protection schemes- Member of the technical specification & evaluation committee for transmission items such as MV-VCB panels, transformer and feeder P&C panels, battery and battery chargers, in capacity as a subject matter expert- Reviewing of P&C panel specifications, P&C panel schemes etc- Attending FAT for C&P panels of power transformers, EHV feeders, MV/HV level Indoor/Outdoor switchgear, CBs etc, on behalf of KSEBL- Primary Equipment selection, rating calculations, control logic development etc.* Also experienced in- O&M of a hydro power plant and associated plant & substation assets (AIS - Upto and including 110 kV level) with hands-on experience in the following- Maintenance of hydro power plant machinery, including the generator (Francis Turbine run), Generator Transformers, Power Transformers, Excitation Systems, Auxiliary Electrical Systems, P&C panels of Turbine-Generator, EHV Feeder & Transformer bay equipments, EHV Circuit Breakers, MV Circuit Breakers, substation LT-AC systems, DC systems for protection & control including battery chargers, battery banks, DC distribution boards etc- AIS switch-yard construction, switch-yard equipment erection, earth grid construction etc- General control circuit troubleshooting in power stations and substations including that of EOT Cranes, PCCs, MCCs, CBs etc- Report generation & documentation.
