ABOUT R. J. HERNÁNDEZ

R.J. Hernández is a Cuban-American author and editor in NYC. He graduated from Yale University in 2011 and assisted in the editorial departments of Vogue, Elle, and W before leading the New York City editorial department of London-based arts and culture magazine Schön. As an Associate Editor at Schön, he managed a team of writers, editing their work from developmental stages to final copy edit. In 2016, HarperCollins published his first novel, which was shortlisted for the 2017 Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction and two 2017 International Latino Book Awards. Interviews, articles, and reviews of R.J.’s work have appeared in national and international media including: The Washington Post, The Guardian, Huffington Post, Out, People, Elle, Telegraph, and Vanity Fair.
