Now Senior Director for Microsoft, Rob has worked in the area of Software-as-a-Service and Cloud Computing since 2001 when he led the transformation of FinTech ISV RiskMetrics Group from a local software ISV to a SaaS model. Rob was responsible for RiskMetrics on-line services business, developed SaaS applications, commercial web services and associated Service Level Agreements for financial services clients. As an early proponent of \"cloud\" based services, he developed hybrid cloud burst architectures for quantitative analytics on the Windows Azure Platform, and was a founding member of the Azure Customer Advisory Board.He moved to Microsoft in 2011 as UK Cloud CTO and was responsible for the Azure 3rd party Applications/PaaS business and for long term development of the Azure Apps/PaaS business looking at areas of financial services, life sciences, cloud based TV, cloud gaming and Internet of Things. He then led technical evangelism for Microsoft in the UK, before setting up the UK Commercial Software Engineering team and becoming a member of the Senior Leadership Team for Microsoft UK.In his current role he leads co-innovation software engineering engagements with Microsoft Government customers worldwide.
