ABOUT RIYA MATTA
Undergraduate student of the Tufts University Class of 2023 majoring in International Relations & Affairs and minoring in Science, Technology, & Society, an interdisciplinary field combining studies in science, technology, mathematics, anthropology, history, and sociology. I seek to combine my commitment to social justice and my educational background in international relations with my passion for global health in order to advocate for health/medical justice for underserved populations. My research interests are predominantly focused at the intersection of geopolitical, societal, and medical issues, looking at the impact of systemic oppression and inequities domestically and internationally on health outcomes on marginalized groups, specifically women, LGBTQ+, and incarcerated people, with a deep emphasis on the Global South.
