A multiple-Emmy and national Murrow-winning journalist, Riya has over 15+ experience in digital, social and broadcast media at NBC, CNBC and Microsoft’s MSN News, managing and collaborating with teams across platforms, brands, apps and newsrooms globally. Riya is currently a Breaking News Editor for CNBC based out of the network’s West Coast bureau in San Francisco where she directs CNBC.com\'s breaking news coverage and manages digital coverage for corporate earnings and Mad Money with Jim Cramer.She was previously digital managing editor for NBC Bay Area (NBCUniversal) where she managed a team of digital editors, producers and video journalists in Silicon Valley while overseeing breaking news coverage and social and digital editorial strategy. She has led breaking news coverage of major national and historic events and crises, including presidential elections, the NBA finals + Super Bowl and on-the-ground coverage of two of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history, which won two national Edward R. Murrow awards. Before NBC, she was an editor and producer for Microsoft’s MSN News, where she was also part of its first team of reporters, covering tech, business, national and world news.
